The beginning of the guesthose
The story of Vančar Guesthouse began in December 1983, when Danijela and Anton Komac, with great dedication and courage, opened the doors of the guesthouse. From the start, they built it on warmth, honest work, and a genuine relationship with their guests.
Challenges and a new path
In 1998, the area was struck by the first earthquake, which damaged the upper part of the building. Despite the difficulties, Danijela and Anton continued their work and kept the guesthouse open.

In 2004, a second and stronger earthquake caused severe damage, requiring the demolition of the old building and a complete renovation. This was a demanding period, but the family did not give up. During this time, they temporarily operated from a neighboring building, where they welcomed and cared for guests for five years.
A new Guesthouse - a new beginning
After years of effort, an important milestone followed. On March 29, 2009, the opening of today’s guesthouse took place – the restaurant area, which now represents the heart of the venue.

In 2011, the opening of the rooms followed, expanding the offer to include accommodation and a complete hospitality experience.
A Family run Business today
Today, Vančar Guesthouse is run by daughter Tjaša Komac, with the younger generation also actively involved. They are gradually taking on key responsibilities, bringing fresh energy while respecting the values on which the guesthouse was built.
